The Cranbourne FC has seen many changes over its time, some good, some not so, and it’s now time for yet another significant change within our clubs Board.
I have had the privilege of being President of this great club for the past four years; a period which has seen some of those highs and lows of which are part and parcel of being a large football club such as ours. And with most things, change is a terrific tonic to re-motivate and re-energise all those associated with the club. It’s a tough gig and the time for change is well upon us.
Therefore, I wish to inform you all that I am stepping down as President of the Cranbourne Football Club with the role to be taken up by former President Gerry Kelly. Gerry informed me a couple of weeks back after the AGM that he was stepping down from his role on the Board of the SEFNL, opening up the opportunity for him to get back involved directly with the club and he was willing to get back on to the Board.
At the time of the AGM, there were no Board positions available but after Tony McPhillips resigned his position given that he was again taking up the Cranbourne Superules President’s role, an opening occurred of which Gerry duly filled.
Needless to say that we were thrilled that Gerry was keen to again become involved as his knowledge of the local game, area, council and business will be sure to hold us in good stead for the future. I shall remain on the Board under the role of Financial Director to focus heavily on and oversee our financial structure and processes.
I will take this opportunity to thank the many committed and dedicated people who have given up their time to support me over the four years. This show is never a one-man band and that must be duly acknowledged and now is a great time to do so.
Enough about me.
The club continues to look for further assistance with day to day club roles and we welcome anyone who may be keen to volunteer anywhere between 1 – 5 hours per week. We are a club run by volunteers and only does many hands make light work. Whether you are keen to be a Secretary, sub-committee member, social or sponsorship, or simply a game day helper, the club needs you to give up a little time you may have spare to make the place even greater.
