R4 v Tooradin

Tooradin was welcomed back to Casey fields and with 2 finals losses from 2012 we were expecting a tough encounter.

Our boys got off to a flyer winning the footy well but we were a bit astray in front of goals early & failed to take full advantage on the scoreboard..

The second quarter was a complete turnabout with some crucial errors in our back half, Tooradin pounced and went to the main break 5 points in front.

We all expected a tough encounter in the second half but no-one expected the umpires to take centre stage with an unprecedented 15+ 50m penalties given out.

What was most confusing is the game was being played in very good spirits by both clubs so why the need to take the focus away from a great contest??

The last quarter was a doozy with our boys fighting back from 14 points down to snatch a draw from the jaws of a loss?? or just failing to get over the line and pinch the 4 points. Half full or half empty not quite sure.

All in all we walk away knowing Tooradin has taken some good steps forward and we now focus on Berwick on the Mothers day weekend.

Best for the day was Cheeks who has been in solid form for the past couple of weeks.. Yozzie has been white hot since round 1....Matt Weller has recaptured that vg form displayed last season and Razor has added some consistency to his classy repertoire.
